To Configure the Background Music:
1.
Add a Linutop node in the System configuration; see Figure 11 (page 45).
•
Hostname: as required
•
IP address: DHCP
•
Run announce-d: No
•
Other parameters: system default settings
NOTE: The Linutop is used to make the BGM PMC stream generated by the MPS microphone
known to all VIPA devices in the system.
2.
Add a PMC Device node to the Linutop node; see Figure 11 (page 45).
Refer to the System Design documentation to find out the multicast address and port used for the
background music function from this microphone.
•
Port: Communication port used by the BMG stream generated by the MPS microphone
From the microphone configuration file; see example in Figure 1 (page 14):
Port = bgm-port
Or from the microphone LCD display:
Port = IP SETTINGS>PMC BGM PORT
Example: Port = 16030
•
Multicast address: Multicast address assigned to the BMG stream generated by the MPS
microphone
From the microphone configuration file; see example in Figure 1 (page 14):
Multicast address = bgm-addr
Or from the microphone LCD display:
Multicast address = IP SETTINGS>PMC BGM ADDRESS
Example: Multicast address = 239.0.1.30
•
Other parameters: system default settings
3.
Add a PMC Output to the PMC Device of the Linutop node; see Figure 11 (page 45).
•
Type: Static
•
Audio Groups (Advanced Optional Settings): A user-defined audio group
Example: Audio Groups = "music-mps-01"
4.
If the VIPA device which is hosting the MPS microphone is an iPA400 or iPAM400, then follow
the steps below.
a.
Add a BGM PMC Stream node to the VIPA device which is hosting the MPS
microphone; see Figure 12 (page 47).
•
Stream: "1"
•
Audio Group: Audio group assigned to the Linutop's PMC Output; see step 3 above.
Example: Audio Groups = "music-mps-01"
