Changing the IED functionality

7.4.1

Defining the setting group

A mechanism for limiting the number of writings per time period is included in the IED to prevent
the flash memory to be worn out due to too many writings. As a consequence it may take up to an
hour to save changes. If the auxiliary power is interrupted before a change is saved, that change is
lost.
7.4.1.1

Activating a setting group

IED settings are planned in advance for different operation conditions by calculating setting
values to different setting groups. The active setting group can be changed manually from the
menu or by the PCM600 tool..

Select Main menu/Settings/Activate setting group/SETGRPS:1 and press

, select OK to confirm the selection or Cancel to cancel the selection.
Do not switch off the auxiliary power supply to the IED before changes, for
example, setting parameter or local/remote control state changes are saved.
