3.4 Installation
How the sensors and actuators are connected to the ana-
logue I/O module depends on the connection block used.
Note
When connecting sensors and actuators, observe the
instructions in the description of the CPX analogue
I/O module (P.BE-CPX-AX-...).
To transmit analogue signals, use shielded cable only.
Caution
Long signal lines reduce the resistance to interference.
Do not exceed the maximum permitted I/O signal cable
length of 30 m.
Screening
When connecting the cable screening, the following vari-
ants are permissible:
Screened connection to the FE pin of the I/O plug
without connection to additional potential,
External FE connection without connection to the
FE pin of the I/O plug.
Recommendation: Connect the cable shield to both sides
of the FE with sufficient equipotential bonding. If the cable
screen is connected to one side of the FE, it should be con-
nected to the "signal receiver" side.
