Region Code (regional
code)
A component that incorporates a semiconductor memory chip into a single substrate. This
module is inserted into the RAM Module Slot to increase the computer's available memory

166). Increasing memory (RAM) offers a number of benefits, including more
comfortable program operations, the capacity to handle larger volumes of data, and the ability
to use several programs simultaneously. RAM modules come in various types and capacities,
so the user must choose the module that is best suited to the user's computer.
The number of times the screen is updated with a new display each second. If the screen
seems to flicker, it may be because the refresh rate is too low.
A code that limits the regions in which a DVD-Video (
code prevents new movies or software on DVD-Video from being distributed before their official
release in a particular area. The world is divided into six regions, for which codes 1-6 have
been allocated. If the region code of the DVD disk and the DVD drive do not match, the disk
cannot be played. The region code for North America is [1], and all DVD players sold in North
America are assigned region code [1]. Generally, DVDs sold overseas cannot be played on
DVD players designed for use in North America.
The drive's region code on this computer is not set at the time of shipment from the factory.
The first code is set when the first DVD-Video is played. The region code can be set up to
five times, including this initial setting. Proceed very carefully because after the fifth change
has been made, the region code set last is fixed and no further changes can be made. Note
that this code cannot be changed even of the OS is reinstalled.
