Scrolling
Refers to reinstalling software, drivers, and other components into the computer. Also refers to
reinstallation of the entire operating system. This operation is conducted when software or
other components no longer work properly.
In this computer, Windows can be completely reinstalled by using the Product Recovery
DVD-ROM.
A measure of the fineness of display output. The number of display points on a screen is
expressed as "horizontal x vertical". A screen with a larger number of display points (a higher
resolution) can show more information.
Pressing the right button quickly on the mouse and releasing it. The menu that appears when
a right click is executed differs depending on the application software, but in many cases a part
of the menu bar (shortcut menu) is displayed.
A startup mode used when a problem occurs in the computer and Windows does not start up
properly. Icons and other images are displayed in magnified form on the screen, and a
message indicates that the computer has been started up in Safe Mode. This means the
computer has been started up using only a minimal amount of required functions, with most
other extended functions inoperative. This allows for checking problem causes, as well as
system recovery.
When starting this computer, hold down the F8 key when the [Panasonic] boot screen
disappears, and release your finger when the Windows Advanced Options Menu is
displayed.
A function by which the screen is turned off, or a video or still image is displayed when the
computer is on but not in use for a specified period of time.
Moving the display contents up or down, or right or left, when all of the information displayed in
a window (e.g., text or an image) cannot be contained in a single screen.
