Partition
A technology that efficiently compresses digital video data. MPEG2 is one of this technology
with outstanding image quality and is used in DVD-Video (
Another related technology, MPEG1, uses a lower compression rate than MPEG2, and is used
in Video CD ( page 210). There is also an MPEG4 standard, which is designed for
distribution of video with low picture quality or high compression rates through telephone lines
and other lines with low communication speeds.
On this computer, MPEG2 files are played using WinDVD, and MPEG4 files are played

using Windows Media Player. In some cases, it may be necessary to install codecs
separately.
