By default, the computer's network interface card (NIC) will also be DHCP/auto-IP, so if no
network server is detected, the computer will create it's own valid IP address using the auto-
IP feature
If the computer and power supply both have auto-IP addresses, then the LAN connection
may be made by simply typing the supply's IP address into a web browser as described in
section 3.4

3.3. SETUP THE LAN POWER SUPPLY

Start With a "LAN Reset". When you are making the first LAN connection to a Genesys™
power supply, or are recovering from a connection problem, then it is recommended that you do
a "LAN Reset" on the power supply's front panel (see section 4.2)
To start up the Genesys™ power supply with the LAN option enabled:
1.
Turn OFF the power supply AC power
2.
Set LAN card rear panel switch to UP (see Figure 3)
3.
Connect an Ethernet cable from the power supply's LAN connector to the network
(section 3.2.1) or to a computer (section 3.2.2). The cable to the power supply may be
wired as a patch cable (or straight-through) or as a cross-over cable
4.
Turn ON the power supply AC power. See the front panel show "LAn" for about
3 seconds. After that, the supply will show "OFF" or the last output settings
5.
In about 10 seconds (for DHCP and static IP), or 30 seconds (for auto-IP), see on the
rear-panel: (see Figure 3)
– The Link and Activity LED should be green to show the cable is connected. It may
blink to show messages are being sent on the network
– The Status LED should be steady green to show the supply has a valid IP address

3.4. CONNECTING WITH THE WEB PAGE

Once the power supply has been connected to a network and it is powered up, the power
supply may operated, and it's LAN settings may be changed, by using the built-in web page.
The details of the web pages are described in section 5
1.
Read the IP address from the supply's front panel by holding the FOLD button (see
section 4.1 for details)
2.
Open a web page viewer program such as Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator. Type
the power supply's IP address as shown below. Click the GO button
The power supply's Home page will appear. If it does not, see section 3.7
