The IP addresses of the VPLEX hardware components are determined by a set of
formulae that depend on the internal management network (A or B), the Cluster IP
Seed, and (for directors) the Enclosure ID (which matches the engine number).
Figure 35
shows the IP addresses in a cluster with a Cluster IP Seed of 1, and
Figure 36 on page 73
shows the addresses for a Cluster IP Seed of 2. Note that the
Cluster IP Seed is the same as the Cluster ID, which depends on the VPLEX
implementation:
VPLEX Local - The Cluster ID is always 1.
VPLEX Metro - The Cluster ID for the first cluster that is set up is 1, and the
second cluster is 2.
Cluster IP Seed = 1
