From the VPlexcli prompt, type the following command, and follow the steps in the
automated interview:
configuration system-setup
CAUTION
When you see the following warning, ignore it: Cannot reach the remote
management server and its directors. Are you sure you configured and started the
VPN on the remote management server?
Note: At any time during the interview part of the setup, you can exit EZ-Setup by typing the
command exit. To resume the setup, type the command configuration system-setup again.
EZ-Setup returns to the first step, and any values you already entered now appear as the new
default values.
From the VPlexcli prompt, type the following command:
version
In the output, confirm that the Product Version matches the required version in the
VPLEX release notes.
1. Use either the VPLEX Port WWN Calculator or the VPlexcli to determine the
VPLEX back-end ports that you will zone to the storage ports:
• Using the Port WWN Calculator — Launch the calculator and follow the
instructions.
• Using the VPlexcli — From the VPlexcli prompt, type the following command
to list all director port WWNs (identified in the command output as
addresses):
ll /engines/**/ports -p
2. Zone the storage to the VPLEX back-end ports, following the recommendations in
the Implementation and Planning Best Practices for EMC VPLEX Technical Notes,
which are available on Powerlink.
Note: EMC recommends zoning to the port WWNs.
Type the following command:
configuration continue-system-setup
Wait several minutes for array rediscovery to complete before you proceed to the next
task.
Note: If at any point you need to cancel all the EZ-Setup steps you have performed, you can
cancel the setup as described in
