• The Scheppach construction circular saw should
only be used with original accessories, original ex-
tension tools and original saw blades of the manu-
facturer.
• According to the currently valid regulations the use
of this machine is not allowed in closed rooms. The
machine should only be used outside or in suffi-
ciently ventilated rooms.

6. Other risks

The machine is built according to the up to date tech-
nical level and the accepted safety-related rules.
However, some remaining risks might appear dur-
ing work.
• Risk of injury to fingers and hands by the rotating
saw blade in case of incorrect usage of the work-
piece.
• Injuries because of the workpiece being slung away
due to incorrect holding or usage, such as working
without end stop.
• Risk to health because of wood dust or wood splin-
ters. Wear personal protection gear such as eye
protection and dusk mask without fail.
• Injuries caused by a defect saw blade. Check the
saw blade regularly for its integrity.
• Electricity danger, in case electrical connections
that are not according to the rules are used.
• Furthermore, despite of all precautions unapparent
remaining risk can exist.
• Remaining risks can be minimized, when the "Safe-
ty information" and the "Intended use" as well as
the operational instructions are both respected.
• Deactivate the machine and pull out the power
plugs when you want to clean the machine.
• Keep the electrical connections always oil and
grease free.
• The machine has a working area that is in front of
the machine.
• For cleaning always switch off the machine and pull
the power plug.
• Keep electric cables always free from oil and
grease.
• The operator's work place is in front of the machine.
• Wear protective gloves to avoid injuries to fingers
and hands when handling the sawblade and groov-
ing tools, feeding the work piece into the machine,
or when executing repairs.
• Do not try to remove wood chips while the saw-
blade is running and while the sawing unit has not
come to a standstill.
• Only use the machine with all the guards in place
and all the cutting tools in perfect condition.

8. Unpacking

Unpacking the machine, Fig. 1.1
1 Remove the hoops
2 Remove the cover and side parts
3 Remove the enclosed parts and check them for
completeness:
– 1 longitudinal fence
– 1 stop rail
– 1 cap type plate
– 1 cross-cutting gauge
– 1 guard with riving knife
– 1 sawblade key
– 1 counter holder key
– 1 push stick
– 1 push handle
– 1 suction connector with closing plug
– 1 table length extension
– 4 foot caps, and
– Accessory pack with fixing parts

9. Assembly

For reasons of packing, your scheppach machine is
not completely assembled.
Assembly of the base, Fig. 2
1 Fold up the front and rear supporting legs (1). Fix
each leg with hexagon bolts, washers and nuts
(2). Firmly tighten all the bolts.
2 Attach four foot caps (3).
3 Attach the suction connector (4) with four bolts,
washers and hexagon nuts.
4 Place the construction saw on its feet.
5 Mount the tool holder for push stick, push handle
and sawblade key on the right-hand leg (Fig. 2.1).
Fasten the sawblade guard with riving knife, Fig. 3
1 Put the assembled sawblade guard with riving
knife from above in between the guide plate and
clamping plate.
2 Set the clearance between riving knife and saw-
blade to 3 – 8 mm (a), and tighten the clamping
plate with four hexagon bolts and washers (2).
Assembly of the table length extension, Fig. 4.1
and 4.2
1 Mount the table length extension (1) on both sides
to the table (2) with four hexagon bolts (3), four
washers, and four nuts. Tighten the nuts slightly
by hand.
2 Fold out the supporting bow (4) for the table exten-
sion and lock it on the table.
3 Adjust the table extension as follows:
– Place a ruler across the sawing table and the
table extension.
– Adjust the height of the table extension and
tighten firmly to the sawing table (3) with the
bolts and the support (5).
Clamping device for longitudinal fence, Fig. 5.1
Fasten the clamping device (1) for the fence to the
table top using two cheese-head screws M 6 x 30,
two washers and two nuts M 6.
