11. Fault rectification

A fault can occur if, for example, the airstream
temperature increases or if the fan motor is blocked.
The overload protection kicks in and the fan switches
off.
If no motor protection switch or self-holding,
i
cabled control contactor is used, the fan starts
up again automatically after the fan motor has
cooled down.
Risk of electric shock.
 Disconnect the device completely from
the mains power supply and protect it
DANGER
against be started up before starting
work on the electrical system or in the
case of a fault.
 Also make sure that the TC power
circuit to the thermal contacts is
completely disconnected from the
power supply.
Danger from rotating impeller.
 Make sure the impeller has come to a
complete stop before opening the
CAUTION
service door.

 If the fan fails to operate, always check whether the
mains fuse is switched on.
 Check that the cabling of the fan is correct.
 If a motor protection switch is used as a safety
device, the motor protection switch must be activated
in the case of a fault. Before starting the fan, let the
fan motor cool down and release the motor
protection switch. The fan starts up again.
 If a self-holding, cabled control contactor is used as
a safety device, the control contactor must be
activated in the case of a fault. Before starting the
fan, let the fan motor cool down and release the
control contactor. The fan starts up again.
 If the fault still continues or occurs again, disconnect
the device from the mains and call on the services of
a trained electrician.

Motor protection: The motor does not require
i
any external motor protection. It is protected
against slowly developing overload as well as
blocking (IEC 34-11: TP 211).
Voltage surge protection: The motor is
i
protected against pulse overvoltage
(→ EN 61800-3).
You will find detailed information about fault
messages in the in the additional "Grundfos"
Motor manual.

12. Dismantling

Risk of electric shock.
 Disconnect the device completely from
the power supply and secure it against
DANGER
being started up.
 Dismantling may only be undertaken by a specialist
electrician.

13. Disposal

 Dispose of the unit once it has reached the end of its
working life according to the regulations valid where
you are.
Do not dispose of it in domestic waste!
i
The unit contains in part material that can be
recycled and in part substances that should
not end up as domestic waste.
