When all of the installation works are complete, perform the system initialization operation test using the
test menu of the MMT display.
A test program is available on PSC to perform operation test.
Either one or two L-cassettes on which barcode label is attached are required for the test program.
1. Turn on all the powers of the PetaSite system.
2. Turn on the main power of a PSC (PetaSite Control Software) and start up the MMT display.
3. Enter the MMT display in the administrator mode.
4. Select "Program" of "Test" menu and open the Program display.
5. Input "test" into the Command box and set MMT into test mode.
→ When test mode is established, the MMT cannot be controlled any more from the host system.
To exit the test mode, input "remote" into the Command box, or close the Program display.
6. Input "org" into the Command box.
→ System initialization of the PetaSite starts.
→ If any trouble occurs during initialization, check error code of the PetaSite, perform the recovery
operation and initialize the PetaSite again.
The error code contents and the suspected cause of error can be known using the help menu of
error code.
7. Click the "Load" button and open the system check program file according to the model of the tape
library.
8. Check for the program. Insert an L-cassette test tape into the top shelf of the upper input port.
→ System check program is the test program that has been already available on PSC.
This program is created to check all operations of the PetaSite system. Because this is the shell
script type program, it can be freely edited.
Size of the magazine (either for L-cassette or for S-cassette) that is installed in the Input port can
be set as desired in the program. Size of the cassette that can be stored in the basic console and
the extension console can also be set as desired in the program. If you want to change the above-
described sizes, select the "Edit Mode" of the Program and modify the program.
Number of execution times of the respective operation tests can be set. If you want to change the
number of the test execution times, select the "Edit Mode" in the same manner and modify the
program.
When modification of program is complete, modify the "Run Mode" too.
Refer to "Help" for more detailed description of the Program display.
9. Select the "Run" button and start executing the test program.
→ If any trouble occurs while the test is in progress, check error code of the PetaSite, perform the
recovery operation and re-start the test program.
10. Operation test ends.
→ When the operation test ends, close the Program display. Enter the MMT display with the user
mode and hand the system over to the system administrator.
*1 : Prepare the cassettes that can be housed in console, for the test. When the basic console and the extension console use the
cassettes of different sizes in the system in which extension console is connected, prepare both of the L-size cassette and the S-size
cassette each one piece respectively.
*2 : When the two test cassettes of either L-cassette or S-cassette are used for the test, insert them to the top shelf of both the upper
and lower input ports.
