Turning the Unit On or Off

Turning On the Unit

Press the power switch on the front panel.
The POWER indicator lights green and the unit starts.
• All the indicators light green and then flash one time.
• They then flash yellow repeatedly form left to right
(while the unit is performing a self-diagnostic).
When the self-diagnostic completes, all of the
indicators except the POWER indicator go out.
Caution
If the status indicators do not behave as described
above, see "Drive status indicators" on page 38, and
determine the status of the unit.

Turning Off the Unit

Press the power switch on the front panel.
The POWER indicator turns off, and the unit is turned
off.
Caution
Do not turn off the unit while it is in use or there is a
cartridge inside, as this could damage data.
Note
After turning off the unit, wait at least 10 seconds
before turning it on again.
