4.3.4 Pressure/Salinity Compensated
Measurements
For more accuracy it is recommended to set the
barometric pressure and salinity values, the meter
will automatically compensate for the entered
values.
Set the barometric pressure before performing a
calibration. The barometric differences caused by
the weather have slight influences on the readings,
for very accurate readings it is recommended to
reset this value every time you take a
measurement. Setting pressure is described
overleaf.
Note: The average barometric pressure at 0 meters
(sea level) is 760 mmHG, at 1829 meters it is 609
mmHG.
The salinity of the sample influences the readings.
Set the salinity value as close as possible to the
value of the sample. The salinity can be measured
with a salinity meter; this measured value should be
entered in the meter before performing a DO
measurement. Setting pressure is described at
paragraph overleaf.
