T10
A standards committee chartered with creating standards for SCSI.
T11
A standards committee chartered with creating standards for Fibre
Channel.
A chip that supports FC-0 through FC-2 on a single chip.
Target
A storage device on a Fibre Channel network. See also Initiator.
TC
Track changes.
TCP/IP
Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol.
Telnet
A virtual terminal emulation used with TCP/IP. Telnet is sometimes
used as a synonym for the Fabric OS CLI.
The time from when a port wins arbitration in a loop until the same
port returns to the monitoring state. Also referred to as loop tenancy.
The rate of data flow achieved within a cable, link, or system. Usually
measured in bits per second. See also Bandwidth.
Tiering
The process of grouping particular SAN devices by function and then
attaching these devices to particular switches or groups of switches
based on that function.
A Fibre Channel service that allows for the management of all timers.
As applies to Fibre Channel, the configuration of the Fibre Channel
network and the resulting communication paths allowed. There are
three possible topologies:
Point-to-point — A direct link between two communication
ports.
Switched fabric — Multiple N_Ports linked to a switch by
F_Ports.
Arbitrated loop — Multiple NL_Ports connected in a loop.
TPC
Third-party copy. A protocol for performing tape backups without
using server resources.
