Oil Injection Models:
Remove two mounting b o l t s securing pump
assembly to crankcase. Lift pump assembly
off crankshaft, carefully route oil lines out of
crankcase.
Remove oil pump gear.
Remove four cylinder head bolts. Re-
move cylinder head and gasket. Discard cylin-
der head gasket.
Examine cylinder, cylinder head and gasket for
signs of leakage. If leakage is evident check
head and cylinder for flatness.
Clean cylinder head and cylinder gasket sur-
faces using Lawn-Boy Gel Seal and Gasket Re-
mover, Part No.
390928.
Scrap carbon from combustion chamber and
top of piston.
NOTE: Removal of extremely heavy deposits
may require scraping with a wood block. €xer-
cise
care not to gouge gasket sealing surfaces,
piston or combustion chamber.
