Install pre-filter and air filter cover. Be sure
the paper air filter is fully seated in the filter base
and does not pucker allowing direct passage of
air and dirt into engine. Hook cover tabs into
slots on air filter base. Rotate into position and
tighten
two
mounting screws securely.
Push Models:
Install engine to engine mounting plate.
Secure with three screws.
Torque mounting screws to 155 In.-lbs.
(13 ft.-lbs.) (18 N.M)
Self-Propelled Models:
Install self-propelled drive pulley onto
crankshaft. Secure with set screw. Apply
Ultra Lock, Part No. 388517 to setscrew.
NOTE: Set screw must enter hole in crank-
shaft.
Torque set screw to 95 In.-lbs.
(8 ft.-lbs.) (11 N.M)
Position engine onto engine mounting plate.
Assemble drive belt to drive pulley. Assemble
belt snubber to engine mounting plate to retain
drive belt and secure with three screws.
Torque mounting screws to 155 In.-lbs.

BBC Models:
NOTE: Check alignment of belt on crank
shaft pulley. Belt is positioned within three
raised beltguides of engine mounting plate.

Locate crankshaft in engine mount
ing plate with Lawn-Boy Mounting Plate Lo
cator Part No. 613589 for proper centering.
Apply Ultra Lock Part No. 388517 to mount-
ing screws and reinstall.
Torque mounting screws to 155 In.-lbs.
(13 ft.-lbs.) (18 N.M)
Refer to Section 12 for BBC installation
procedures.
Reconnect chute interlock switch to engine
wiring harness.
Refer to Section 9 for all cable installation and
adjustment procedure.
