ActiveScale™ X100 Installation Guide
• A laptop with the following software, data, and certificates:
– A supported web browser.
Note: ActiveScale SM is compatible with Chrome v63-65 and Firefox v57-59.
Desktop versions only.
– Valid security certificates in PEM format (required only if you plan to enable SSL for the
administrator interface, ActiveScale SM)
– Your filled-in ActiveScale X100 Site Survey.
– The configuration wizard prompts you for the local network settings you predetermined through
your ActiveScale X100 Site Survey. Please have your settings available for your reference.
• A CAT6 (RJ45) cable for connecting your laptop to the system
• 6 10GbE fiber optic cables for connecting the System Nodes to your networks in the data center. Your
fiber optic cables will connect to the system's SFP+ transceivers, which comply with the Ethernet
10GBASE-SR standard. Do not exceed the specified maximum 10GBASE-SR cable length for the
fiber optic cable type you choose. Maximum 10GBASE- SR cable lengths are:
– 300m for OM3 MMF fiber optic cables
– 400m for OM4 MMF fiber optic cables connected through duplex LC connectors
5.2 Single site deployments
This section guides you through the initial bringup of the first system in a single site deployment.
Tip: Total time estimate: 12-48 hours, depending on the capacity of the system.
