Chapter 4 Using the On-Screen Display Interface

Resetting to Factory Defaults

You can clear current system settings and have all settings return to factory defaults. The
following settings will be reset:
All settings on the SETUP page.
All user accounts on the User Configuration page.
Restoring factory defaults does NOT require the administrator permission.
Exception: Channel names are stored on the connected 1754-A1T KVM cables so they are
NOT reset to factory defaults.

Resetting system settings

1. Log out to show the Login screen. See
2. Press Ctrl + Shift + F10. The following message appears.
3. Press Enter to proceed with the factory reset. The following message appears.
 Press Esc in order to cancel out of this selection.
4. Wait until the Login screen re-appears, indicating the reset is completed.

More Channel Information

Active and inactive channels are determined with the power status of the connected
ThinkSystem USB conversion cables for Analog KVM cable.
The default colour of an active channel is green.

Active and Inactive Channels

An active channel shows its channel name, while an inactive channel does not show any
channel name.

Active channels

The 1754-A1T KVM switch recognizes a channel as being active when it detects that the
channel port is connected to a "powered" ThinkSystem USB conversion cables for Analog KVM
cable.
