Enter the following sequence of byte numbers in [Data
Entry Byte], and click the [Apply] button.

Specify the IP address of the network switch
(page 17), and click the [OK] button.
Disabling power-saving options
Disable the power-saving options so that the display does
not turn off automatically.

Select [Control Panel] > [System and Security] >
[Power Options].

Select [Balanced], and click [Change plan settings].

Set [Turn off the display] to [Never].

Click the [Save changes] button.

Installing Network System Manager

Install Network System Manager using the NSM installer
on the NSM installation disc.

Run the NSM installer (Disc/NSM/bin/setup.exe) on
the NSM installation disc.
Follow the instructions in the wizard to install the
software.

When installation is finished, restart the OS.
Network System Manager is registered as a Windows
service and will start automatically when the OS starts.
Configuring the hosts file
Configure the hosts file so that a warning is not displayed
each time Network System Manager is accessed from a
browser.
Notes
• It is recommended that you make a backup of the hosts
file before modifying the hosts file settings.
• No warning may be displayed, due to changes in
specifications relating to browser warning display, even
if the hosts files is modified. For the latest information,
contact your sales representative.

Open the hosts file in a text editor, such as Notepad.
The hosts file is stored in the following location.
C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts

Enter the IP address and host name of the NSM server.
The NSM server host name is the name of the server
certificate file (Disc/NSM/doc/Cert/Sony-NSM-
xxxxxxxx.p12) stored on the NSM installation disc.
