1-1. Installing Optional Boards
BKSR-2025/2035
Regarding the HD system, this system supports only the 1080/59.94i format. In this case, use the VSR-
2000A in the NTSC mode. (The VSR-2000A does not support the HD signal in the PAL mode.)

Before attaching the boards, check the following. For details of the upgrading procedure, contact your
local Sony Sales Office/Service Center.
. The BKSR-2025/2035 can be used only in the VSR-2000A. It cannot be used in the VSR-2000.
. The version number of the BZSR-2000 Trial version supplied with the VSR-2000A must be 4.00 or
higher. (The BZSR-2000 Trial version is required for changing the configuration of the optional
boards.)
1. When the encoder boards (BKSR-2020/2021/2025) are going to be installed, install the encoder
boards starting from slot No. 1 in order.
. A maximum of three units of the BKSR-2020/2021 can be installed.
. A maximum of one BKSR-2025 can be installed.
2. After installing the encoder boards (BKSR-2020/2021/2025), install the decoder boards (BKSR-
2030/2031/2035) starting from the top slot.
3. Inclusive of the encoder boards (BKSR-2020/2021) and the decoder boards (BKSR-2030/2031/2035),
a maximum of five boards can be installed. (Slot No.6 cannot be used.)

If you have installed the BKSR-2025 already, a maximum of four boards can be installed. (The
BKSR-2025 occupies space of two slots.)
Be sure to attach the blank panel to all of the slots that are not used with the blank panels supplied.
(The cooling function of the fan decreases, and the unit could be not operated normally.)
The VSR-2000A is designed to memorize the configuration of the optional boards when the power is
turned on for the first time after shipment.
To change the configuration of the optional boards, change the setting using the supplied BZSR-2000
Trial version that is packed with the VSR-2000A.
