Faults Preventing Access to Network System Manager

Error detection
The Network System Manager GUI is not displayed in a browser on the server running Network System Manager.
Possible cause
• Check the settings of the server running Network System Manager.
- Configure the settings as described in "Step 3: Installing an NSM Server" (page 22).
• Check the URL used to access Network System Manager.
- Enter the URL correctly as described in "Logging in" (page 26).
• Check that the network cables used to connect the NSM server and network switch for abnormalities or damage.
- Disconnect/reconnect or replace network cables, as required.
Recovery method
• Restart the NSM server on which the error occurred.
• If the problem persists after restarting, prepare a new NSM server, and perform recovery as described in "Step 9:
Creating Backup Data" (page 55).
• Check for NSM server failure or network switch failure.
- Contact your Sony sales representative.

Faults Due to Errors when Enabling/Disabling Settings

Error detection
A device error is detected and displayed on the [Notification] screen.
Error messages
1 Failed to connect the physical device "***".
2 Failed to connect the physical device "***". A module of the device has already used in other follower GenLock module
"***". Please unlink or delete the follower GenLock module "***" of Network GenLock group "***" and connect the device
again.
3 Failed to connect the physical device "***". A module of the device has already used in other follower GenLock module
"***". Please unlink or delete the follower GenLock module "***" of Network InputLock group "***" and connect the device
again.
4 Failed to connect the physical device "***". A module of the device has already existed in other device "***". Please delete
the other device and connect the device again.
5 Failed to connect the physical device "***". Reason: ***. Please connect the device again.
Recovery method
• Turn off the IP converter.
• Unlink the virtual device of the GenLock module of the IP converter on which the error occurred. See "Changing a
Network GenLock Follower Device" (page 70).
• In [Settings] > [Physical Device] > [Physical Device List] in Network System Manager, select and delete the IP
converter on which the error occurred.
• Turn on the IP converter.
• Re-register the IP converter as described in "Changing a Network GenLock Follower Device" (page 70)
• If the error persists, contact your Sony sales representative.
