1 Description
1.1 Indications for use
The Ottobock ClickValve is to be used exclusively for the prosthetic fitting
of lower limb amputees.
1.2 Field of application
The ClickValve is suitable for amputees with the following requirements:
• Easy handling (threadless).
• Lateral gripping surfaces facilitating valve opening in case of restricted
finger functionality.
• The valve opening is large enough to allow easy removal of donning assists.
• Easier position control of the residual limb.
• Audible feedback when the valve has been positioned correctly.
1.3 Safety instructions
Please forward the following safety instructions to your patients:
NOTICE
Risk of damage if using powder. Any kind of powder on the inner side
of the socket or on the skin can restrict or disable the functionality of
the valve during use. Avoid using powder in areas close to the valve.
1.4 Function
The ClickValve is a threadless one-way valve. It is opened and closed by
pressing together two lateral gripping surfaces. It is used to evacuate air
from the prosthetic socket. The included safety shackle (4) enables the pa-
tient to have the upper part of the valve close to the prosthesis at any time.
