5.16 Platforms for Elevating

A rough terrain forklift truck shall not be used to lift
people unless there is no other practical option. Only
Skyjack approved platforms for elevating personnel
(with appropriate load chart, and supporting
installation and operating instructions), in compliance
with ANSI/ITSDF B56.6/ CSA B335, are permissible.
WARNING
Never use a platform that has unapproved
modifications or is damaged. Failure to identify
and avoid these hazards could result in death or
serious injury.

1. Position the boom so the attachment is just
above ground level.
2. Tilt the carriage until it is horizontally aligned
with the machine frame so the side tilt carriage
locking device can be properly installed.

3. Shut down the engine.
4. Install the side tilt carriage locking device in
place, as shown in figure 44. Secure it with
the quick release pins
