CLUTCH CABLE
Check the clutch lever play at the clutch lever end
when the lever is lightly pulled in towards the grip.
Clutch lever play: 10–15 mm (0.4–0.6 in)
If adjustment is necessary, carry out the procedure
below:
1. Turn the lock nut D of the clutch lever adjuster and
turn in the adjuster C as far as possible.
2. Loosen the cable adjuster lock nuts A and turn the
cable adjuster B to obtain the correct play.
3. Tighten the lock nuts A and place the rubber boot
F. Minor adjustments can now be made with the
clutch lever adjuster C.
4. Tighten the lock nut D and place the lever cover
E.

DRIVE CHAIN

Check the drive chain slack.
Drive chain slack: 15–25 mm (0.6–1.0 in)
If it is too tight or too loose, follow these procedures.
Loosen the axle nut. Adjust the slack in the drive
chain by turning the right and left chain adjuster nuts.
Proper chain slack is obtained when drive chain slack
is up and down, at a point midway between the two
sprockets.
A: Axle nut
B: Adjuster nut
After adjusting, tighten the rear axle nut to the speci-
fied torque. Tighten the adjuster nuts securely.
Rear axle nut: 65 N·m (6.5 kgf-m)
Make sure that the rear sprocket is properly
aligned with the engine sprocket. Verify the
reference marks on the swing-arm by sighting
down along the chain from the rear end of the
motorcycle.
