2.4.4 Growth setting seat width
SEATFIX
(1) Remove the driving wheels and, if necessary, the stabiliz-
ing rod completely. If available remove the firm curved back
plate or loosen the Velcro connection of the adjustable back
cover on both sides.
INFORMATION
The old firm curved back plate must be replaced by a new
one with the appropriate measurements after widening
the wheelchair.
•
Remove the screws (A) on one side at the bottom
of the SeatFix.
•
Remove the screws of the cross bars (B) on the
same side.
•
Reposition the cross bars one or two holes (=1 or
2 cm) in the new position.
•
Replace the screws (B) and retighten them.
•
Replace the screws (A) of the SeatFix in the new
position and retighten them.
•
Proceed the same on the opposite side.
•
The cross bars must be extended the same on
both sides.
•
Close the Velcro connection of the back cover or
place the new firm curved back plate in place.
SEAT COVER
(2) Prepare the wheelchair as described above.
•
On one side remove the Velcro connection (A) of
the seat cover out of the guidance.
•
Remove the screws of the cross bars on the same
side (see above).
•
Reposition the cross bars in the new position as
described above.
•
Close the Velcro connection of the seat cover.
•
Proceed the same on the opposite side.
•
The cross bars must be extended the same on
both sides.
2.4.5 Adjusting the stabilizing rod
(3a+b) When widening the seat, the stabilizing rod must be
adjusted to the new measurements. There are two different
kinds of stabilizing rods:
•
3a
single piece (for extendable push han-
dles),
•
3b
three piece (for standard push handles).
•
After widening, the single piece stabilizing rod
must be place in the appropriate hole (A) and
screwed on tightly.
•
As for the three piece stabilizing rod, the middle
piece must be displaced in to the appropriate hole
(B) and afterward screwed together tightly.
