7.1 Safety instructions
Hot parts in the device
After switching off the device, there may still be some temperatures at the device for some
time which may cause burns if the skin is not protected.
● Make sure you observe the wait time listed in chapter "Technical specifications (Page 79)"
Open enclosure
Danger of explosion in hazardous areas as a result of hot components and/or charged
capacitors inside the device.
Follow these steps when you open the device in a hazardous area:
1. Isolate the device from power.
2. Make sure you observe the wait time listed in chapter "Technical specifications (Page 79)"
3. Pickup inlet and outlet (visual inspection)
Exception: Devices exclusively having the type of protection "Intrinsic safety Ex i" may also
be opened in an energized state in hazardous areas.
Dust layers above 5 mm
Danger of explosion in hazardous areas. The device can overheat due to the dust
accumulation.
● Remove any dust layers in excess of 5 mm.
Maintenance during ongoing operation in a hazardous area
There is a danger of explosion when carrying out repairs and maintenance on the device in
a hazardous area.
● Isolate the device from power.
● Alternatively: Make sure that the atmosphere is explosion-free (hot work permit).
● Wait 10 minutes after disconnecting the power supply before you open all doors and
