Troubleshooting
Cards won't be read properly.
Cause
Solution
When powered on, the reader beeps and the LED is dimly lit.
Cause
Solution
Voltage other than DC12V is used, or the type of the card is different.
1. Check the standard voltage in the manual or catalog.
2. Make sure that the card is a PHILIPS MIFARE card.
→ 125KHz cards can't be used. Also, 13.56MHz cards can't be used if they
are ISO14443 B type compatible (But SR30U can use this card) or ISO1569

3. Make sure that the format of the card is compatible with that of the rea

→ There are two ways to use a reader; using a serial number (UID) and enc
oding data to certain sector and blocks. In the second case, make sure the
card and the reader use the same format.
4. If the problem still persists, contact the service center.
The power adapter being used is not capable of meeting the current consu
mption level of the reader, or the power cable is too long for sufficient po
wer to reach the reader.
1. Make sure to use an adapter with a capacity that is larger than the curre
nt consumption level of the reader. If more than one reader is connected t
o one single adapter, make sure that the capacity adapter can support the
current consumption of each reader multiplied by the number of the conn
ected readers.
2. Even if the power source has sufficient capacity, the cable may not be us
