Fans
To cooling the server, four fan modules are available. The modular design
enable an easy replacement of the fans during service. Due to the hot-plug
architecture, replacement can also take place during operation. Replacement
must take place within 30 seconds.
8.5.1
Replace the Fan Module
The four fan modules are accessible from the left side of the floorstand model
and/or from above in the case of the rack model.
The fan module is equipped with a bicolor status indicator (a)
(green = ok, orange = error).
Ê Open the server (floorstand model only), and remove the top cover and the
left side cover (see chapter "Opening and Closing the Server" on page 57).

Ê Fold up the carrier handle in the direction of the arrow (1) and pull on it to
remove the fan module out of the installation bay (2).
