E) Earthing of the workpiece.
Where the workpiece is not bonded to earth for electrical safety, nor connected to
earth because of its size and position, for example, ship s hull or building steelwork, a
connection bonding the workpiece to earth may reduce emissions in some, but not all
instances. Care should be taken to prevent the earthing of the workpiece increasing the
risk of injury to users or damage to other electrical equipment. Where necessary, the
connection of the workpiece to earth should be made by a direct connection to the
workpiece, but in some countries where direct connection is not permitted, the bonding
should be achieved by suitable capacitance, selected according to national
regulations.
F) Screening and shielding .
Selective screening and shielding of other cables and equipment in the surrounding
area may alleviate problems of interference. Screening of the entire welding area may
be considered for special applications.
4.3 Lifting instructions
Note: Never lift the trolley with the gas cylinder installed.
CAUTION RISK OF FALL!
Risk of falling during transport operation if the machine is inclined at an
angle exceeding 10 °. In this case provide the appropriate locking means.
4.4 Mains power supply
The power supply voltage requirements are indicated in the nominal board.
It should be fed from an independed main supply of adequate capacity, in order to
guarantee its perfect performance and to reduce welding faults and eventual damage
caused by other equipment, such as resistant welding machine, electric engines, etc.
For electric feeding of a Origo 4004 iMV, the user can use the input cable supplied with 4
wires (3 phases cables and 1 earth cable) or an appropriate cable with correspondent
length and with 4 wires (3 phases cables and 1 earth cable). In all the cases above, the
electric feeding should be done with a switch with fuses or circuit breaker properly
dimensioned.
The chart 4.1 gives dimension cables of line and fuses, otherwise check the standards.
