3. While maintaining pressure on the tubing to keep it in place in the port, tighten the
fitting bolt fingertight and then tighten the fitting further by following the instructions in
"Tightening Ferrule Fittings."
To tighten a high-pressure fitting
1. Use your fingers to tighten the fitting bolt as tight as you can.
2. After finger-tightening, use a wrench to tighten the fitting an additional three-quarter
turn (270 degrees).
3. If leaks occur, replace the fitting bolt (P/N 074449), ferrule (P/N 074373), and tubing.
If a connection does not require precision-cut capillary tubing, you can use a tubing cutter to
cut tubing to the required length. Make sure the cut is at a right angle to the length of the
tubing and there are no nicks or burrs on the end. A tubing cutter (P/N 049584) is included
in the Dionex ICS-4000 Ship Kit (P/N 075161). Refer to the instructions provided with the
cutter.
The touch screen provides direct control of most Dionex ICS-4000 operating functions.
When you select an operating command or parameter from the touch screen, the command
or parameter is executed immediately.
