Browse mode
Browse mode gives you more control over your multipoint videoconference
than Voice-Activated mode. If youÕre in Browse mode, you and the other sites
donÕt have to view the person whoÕs speaking Ñ each site can look at which-
ever site they choose.
Browse mode also provides for the concept of a broadcaster. The broadcaster
is the person whom everyone else sees by default.
You can use this mode only if you have a wireless keypad.
Chair Control mode
Chair Control mode is more powerful than Voice-Activated mode or Browse
mode: it gives you total control of the videoconference.
If you have chair control, you can, for example, select the broadcaster, or drop
a site from the videoconference, or even end the videoconference.
Videoconference participants can determine who will control the meeting, but
typically the person who has organized the videoconference has chair control.
Chair control is especially useful for very large videoconferences
or for those that have to be tightly scripted.
You can use this mode only if you have a wireless keypad.

Using Voice-Activated Mode

Voice-Activated mode is the most commonly used mode for multipoint
videoconferences that have a fairly small number of participants or only a few
sites. You can also use this mode for large videoconferences during which only a
few participants are likely to speak.
In this mode, you donÕt need to press any buttons Ñ your Venue
automatically switches to the appropriate site and displays the person whoÕs
currently speaking. If youÕre the one whoÕs speaking, your system displays the
site of the last speaker.
