CAUTION
Independent changes to orthosis components
All components of the orthotic system such as plugs, cable feed-throughs, clamping pieces of the spring element,
supports of the spring element, plug covers etc. have been correctly fabricated/processed by Service Fabrica
tion. In case of deviations or improper fit, corrections may only be made by Service Fabrication.
Independent adaptations can lead to falling caused by:
► Malfunctioning of the orthosis.
► Damage to the sensor cable.
► Breakage of load-bearing components.
→ Adaptations or changes to orthosis components may only be made by Ottobock Service (do not make adapta
tions independently).
→ Independent adaptations void the warranty.

4.2.2 Notes on Transportation

CAUTION
Mechanical influences and/or strain during transportation
Falling or skin irritation may result, caused by:
► Malfunctioning of the orthosis.
► Breakage of load-bearing components.
► Damage to the battery.
► Hydraulic unit defects with associated leakage of liquid.
→ Always use the transport packaging for transportation.

4.2.3 Notes on the Power Supply/Battery Charging

CAUTION
Self-discharge of the battery when the orthosis is not used for extended periods of time
This may lead to falling caused by:
► Altered damping behaviour after switching to empty battery mode, as a result of the supply of electricity to the
orthosis electronics is no longer sufficient.
► When the orthosis is operating with insufficient battery charge level, it may switch to empty battery mode. The
damping behaviour (high/low) can be chosen by the CPO when programming the settings.
→ We recommend recharging prior to each use (see Page 56).
CAUTION
Charging the orthosis without taking it off
This may lead to falling caused by:
► Altered damping behaviour of the orthosis. Swing phase will not initiate because the orthosis does not func
tion during charging.
► Walking and getting caught on the connected battery charger.
→ For safety reasons, remove the orthosis prior to charging it.
