7. Install the server into the chassis.
8. Connect all peripheral cables to the server.
9. Power up the server on page 14.
IMPORTANT: If you have installed the HPE EDR InfiniBand/Ethernet 100Gb single-port 841OCP
QSFP28 Adapter, use a passive direct attach copper cable (DACC). An active optical cable (AOC)
is not supported.
10. Do one of the following:
• Connect the LAN segment cable.
• Install a compatible transceiver.
11. To verify that the OCP network adapter is working properly, check the OCP network adapter LEDs:
• NIC link status (left) = Solid green
• NIC status (right) = Flashing green
The installation is complete.

Transceiver warnings and cautions

WARNING: Fiber-optic transceivers and fiber-optic cables connected to transceivers emit laser light
that can damage your eyes. To avoid eye injuries, avoid direct eye exposure to the beam from the
fiber-optic transceiver or into the ends of fiber-optic cables when they are powered-up.
CAUTION: The presence of dust in transceiver ports can cause poor cable connectivity. To prevent
dust from entering, install a dust plug in an unused transceiver port.
