For Certificated Installations In Canada

Below is a list of requirements that must be met for certified Canadian installations.
The 7845CZ should be used as the secondary dialer. The 7845CZ is not Listed for use as the
primary fire alarm dialer.
On a residential burglar alarm installation, or a commercial burglar alarm installation, all
interconnecting wiring between the control unit and the 7845CZ must be no more than 3 feet
in length,(20 feet for commercial fire alarm installations), and contained within the same
room with no intervening walls or barriers. All interconnecting wiring must be installed in
rigid conduit or EMT (where exposed on interior walls) or in flexible metal tubing if run in
the walls or ceiling.
The Current Limit Mode may not be used on Certificated installations in Canada.
Commercial burglar alarm installations in Canada shall comply with Rule 32-004(1) of the
Canadian Electrical Code, Part I, and the Canadian Standard CAN/ULC-S302-M91 - the
Standard for the Installation and Classification of Burglar Alarm Systems For Financial and
Commercial Premises, Safes and Vaults.
Canadian residential burglar alarm installations must be in accordance with the Canadian
Electrical Code, Part I, and CAN/ULC-S310-M91 Installation and Classification of Residential
Burglar Alarm Systems.
The 7845CZ must be connected to either dry contacts or voltage trigger outputs of a Listed
control unit.
The antenna cable between the 7845CZ unit and the remote antenna must be run in conduit
for commercial fire alarm installations.

For all commercial fire alarm installations in Canada, all wiring that provides primary
power to the 7845CZ shall be installed to meet the requirements of the Canadian Electrical
Code, Part I, Section 32, the Canadian Standard for the Installation of Fire Alarm System,
CAN/ULC-S524 and NFPA 72 the National Fire Alarm Code, (1999 Edition) (see Figure 13).
