Below is a list of UL requirements that must be met for UL installations.
NOTE: For fire, the 7845CZF can be used as the backup dialer. 7845CZF is not approved for use as the
primary fire dialer.
There is no UL Listed siren driver available for commercial burglar alarm use.
For all UL installations, wiring shall be as shown in Figure 8. The Current Limit Mode may
not be used on UL installations. On commercial fire alarm installations or UL commercial burglar
alarm installations, all interconnecting wiring between the control unit and the 7845CZ must be no more
than 3 feet in length and contained within the same room with no intervening walls or barriers. All
interconnecting wiring must be installed in rigid conduit or EMT (where exposed on interior walls) or in
flexible metal tubing if run in the walls or ceiling.
Additionally, the 7845CZ must be connected to either dry contacts or voltage trigger outputs of a Listed
control unit.
Commercial burglar alarm installations must be in accordance with the National Electrical
Code and UL681, Installation and Classification of Burglar and Hold-Up Alarm Systems.
Residential burglar alarm installations must be in accordance with the National Electrical
Code and UL1641, Installation and Classification of Residential Burglar Alarm Systems.
The antenna cable between the 7845CZ unit and the remote antenna must be run in conduit
for commercial fire alarm installations.
The 7845CZ must be programmed as follows:
a. The 7845CZ must be registered as described in the Installation and Setup Guide.
b. The "Flt Time" (Fault Delay Time) may be set for no more than 3 minutes.
c. The Old Alarm Time must be set to 10 minutes.
d. DC Loss Report must be enabled.
e. Current Limited Mode CANNOT be enabled.
f.
Fault Relay On must be enabled for Zone Mode.
g. 24 Hour Supervision must be enabled.
h. Restorals must be enabled for all zones.
i.
No delays can be enabled on any zone.
j.
One zone must be designated as an Open/Close Zone.
k. On commercial fire alarm installations, one zone of the 7845CZ must be used as a Telco Fault
Zone in order to monitor against phone line loss.

Power Considerations for UL Installations

For remote station fire alarm systems, the 7845CZ must be powered from a control unit Listed for
Remote Station Fire Alarm Service.
For central station fire alarm systems, the 7845CZ must be powered from a control unit Listed for
Central Station Fire Alarm Service.
Or the 7845CZ may be powered from a UL Listed fire alarm power supply (UL 1481 or UL 864) that
meets the following conditions:
