a. The Listed Power Supply must provide battery-backup and must be Listed for the intended
application, central station fire or remote station fire (see Figure 11). Either of these two is
acceptable for Household Fire Installations.
b. The power supply must be Class 2 and power-limited.
c. The power supply must have a minimum 1-amp output rating.
d. The power supply must be a regulated 12-Volt supply.
e. The control unit and the 7845CZ must monitor the power supply against AC power loss (see
Figure 11).
f. If the circuit used in Item e is not supervised, then the UL Listed Power Supply must be
located within 20 feet (3 feet for Residential Fire alarm systems) of the control unit, with
no intervening walls or barriers, and be interconnected to the control unit via conduit or
the equivalent.
g. For Canadian installations, the Power Supply must be Listed for fire alarm use in Canada and also
comply with the above requirements.

For UL Burglar Alarm Systems, the 7845CZ must be powered either from a UL Listed Burglar Alarm
Control unit or a Listed burglar alarm power supply provided with battery backup power. (UL 603) See
Figure 11 (Figure 12 for Canadian Installations).

This power supply must:
a. Be Class 2 and power limited.
b. Have a minimum 1-amp output rating.
c. Be a regulated 12-volt power supply.
d. Be monitored by the control panel and by the 7845CZ for AC loss (see Figure 11).
e. The monitoring circuit used for item d must either be a supervised circuit, or the UL Listed Power
Supply must be located within 3 feet of the control unit, without any intervening walls or barriers,
and be interconnected to the control unit via conduit or the equivalent.
f. For Canadian installations, the Power Supply must be Listed for burglar alarm use in Canada and
also comply with the above requirements.
