Coverage in the area in which this unit is to be installed by either checking the coverage
selection at the AlarmNet web site
assistance group at 1-800-222-6525. The ZIP code of the given installation site must be
known in order to determine MicroBurst availability.
1. Unpack and Initialize the Radio
• Unpack the 7845CZ and install the antenna.
• Remove the cover (refer to the "Removing the Cover" paragraph in Section 4).
• Connect a fully-charged battery (ADEMCO K4362) or apply 12VDC power to TB1 from
either a control panel or a 7720V2TR. Be sure to observe the polarity.
• Monitor the initial power-up LED sequence (refer to the "Initial Power-Up Sequence"
paragraph in Section 4). This can take several minutes.
2. Find Coverage and Select a Site
IT'S ALL ABOUT COVERAGE!!! -
you must carefully observe service availability, signal strength, and transmission
ability!
•
Verify MicroBurst
shown at right, or use the "B" command on the 7720P
Programming Tool (refer to Table 1, Section 2 for a listing of all
7720P Programming Tool keyboard commands and their
function).
• Choose the installation site with the
observing the signal strength (RSSI) bar graph or use the "B"
command on the 7720P Programming Tool (refer to the "Selecting a
Radio Installation Site" paragraph in Section 4 for details).
3. Test the Site
• Test communication with the AlarmNet C and cellular networks by
double-clicking the tamper/test switch and receiving message
validation. If desired, you can cancel validation by clicking the
tamper switch once.
• If multiple (3 or more) failures to transmit occur (as indicated by the RED Status LED
rapidly blinking after each transmission), the location selected may be inadequate. Move
the 7845CZ to a different location and retest.
