Real-time mode

In real-time mode, CANlink GSM / UMTS 5xxx enables direct access to CAN
networks.
For detailed information on operating the device in real-time mode, please refer to
the RMsys SoftGateway Software Manual.
5.4

File-transfer mode

In file-transfer mode, CANlink GSM / UMTS serves as a file router for segmented
file transfer between Proemion and a CANopen control.
It is possible to transfer files of any format.
5.4.1

Reading a file from Proemion

The maximum size of a file transmitted from Proemion to a CANlink GSM device is
1024 bytes.
In order to read a file from the Proemion server, check the CANopen Object
Dictionary 0x5402 (Proemion Receive File Indication) Sub-Index 0 for 0x01. As
soon as this value appears, you can read the file name from the Object Dictionary
0x5400 (Proemion Receive File Name) Sub- Index 0 and the contents of the file
from the Object Dictionary 0x5401 (Proemion Receive File) Sub-Index 0.
As soon as you have finished, write the value 0x00 to the Object Dictionary 0x5402
(Proemion Receive File Indication) Sub-Index 0. The CANlink GSM device is then
ready to download the next file from the Proemion server.
