    3.1.1.1 Real-time mode CAN messages are received by the device and sent via the Proemion server to the remote PC. On this computer there may be an analysis software which can handle the CAN messages. A bi-directional data transfer is possible. When higher layer protocols are used, a special firmware and software adaptation may be necessary due to the delay times caused by the GSM/UMTS network.

    Proemion server or a CANopen master controller can send files of any format to the Proemion server using the CANlink GSM / UMTS as a kind of gateway or router to the Proemion server. The devices have an internal non-volatile memory which allows to store the files in case of a GSM outage.

    It is possible to transfer files of any format. 5.4.1 Reading a file from Proemion The maximum size of a file transmitted from Proemion to a CANlink GSM device is 1024 bytes. In order to read a file from the Proemion server, check the CANopen Object Dictionary 0x5402 (Proemion Receive File Indication) Sub-Index 0 for 0x01.

    Files which are transmitted to the Proemion server are sent block by block. The maximum size of one block is 1024 bytes. In order to send a file to the Proemion server, first write the file name to the Object Dictionary 0x5420 (Proemion Transmit File Name) Sub-Index 0, then write the first block of data with a maximum size of 1024 bytes to the Object Dictionary 0x5421 (Proemion Transmit File) Sub- Index 0.
