Safe Direction (SDI)

Definition
Definition according to EN 61800-5-2:
"The SDI function prevents that the motor shaft rotates in the unintended direction."
Examples of how the function can be used
Example
A protective door must only be opened if a drive moves
in the safe direction (away from the operator).
When replacing the plates of the pressure cylinders, the
drive must only move in the safe direction of rotation.
After a protective device to detect a jammed door
responds, a rolling shutter gate may only start to move in
one direction.
When a crane trolley is at the operating limit switch then
it may only start in the opposite direction.
How does SDI function in detail?
SDI monitors the actual direction of rotation. In addition, you can parameterize SDI so that
SDI limits the speed to values in the permitted direction.
Independently of one another, you can parameterize as to whether SDI limits the values in
the positive and/or negative direction.
