Electrical Guidelines
This chapter details electrical and wiring requirements for installation of Lyric fireplaces.
Electrical Requirements
Lyric fireplaces have two electrical options:
Batteries
The fireplace can run on 4 AA batteries located in the receiver unit with no other electrical support. An
access panel is very highly recommended to reduce service time when replacing batteries.
Electrical Outlet
Provide a single gang (two outlet) box (120v 15-amp 60hz) in the location where the gas and electrical
components will be placed, which must be within 36" of the pilot (see diagram in "Gas Requirements and
Setup" for visual). An AC Adapter is provided with all Lyric fireplaces to connect the receiver unit to the
outlet. Electrical work should be done by a qualified licensed electrician, per local code. Batteries are not
required when AC Adapter is connected.
TV/Electronics Electrical Wires
When running wires for electronics (such as a TV) through the fireplace chase, it is recommended to wrap
wires in a thermal insulating wrap (R-6) as shown in diagram below:
WARNING – Be sure to disconnect the power supply before servicing any electrical components.
