Global Configuration mode, also known as config mode, provides commands used to set and
display general switch configurations such as IP address, Simple Network Management Protocol
(SNMP) parameters, Telnet access, and Virtual Local Area Networks (VLAN).
Interface Configuration mode, also known as ifconfig mode, provides commands used to configure
parameters for each port or VLAN such as speed, duplex mode, and rate limiting.
With sufficient permission, you can use the rules in the following table to move between the
command modes.
