0 Traversing block selection, bit 0
1 Traversing block selection, bit 1
2 Traversing block selection, bit 2
3 Traversing block selection, bit 3
4 to 7 Reserved
8 0 = Relative positioning is selected
1 = Absolute positioning is selected
9 01 = Absolute positioning for rotary
axis in the positive direction
10 10 = Absolute positioning for rotary
axes in negative direction
00, 11 = Absolute positioning for a
rotary axis through the shortest
distance
11 Reserved
12 1 = Continuous acceptance
0 = MDI block change with control
word 1, bit 6
13 Reserved
14 1 = Select Set up
0 = Select positioning
15 1 = Activate MDI
