Manual mode using the Liquid Handler software

Manual mode using the Liquid Handler software leaves control of every step to the operator:
Defining new fluid transfer protocols or new destination microplates
l
Executing a fluid transfer protocol
l
Loading and unloading both source and destination microplates
l
Monitoring status
l
Performing periodic maintenance and focus calibration

Labcyte provides the following Echo Applications that extend the Echo Liquid Handler software to enable the operator to easily
create a variety of more complex destination plates. Labcyte currently provides the following software applications:
Echo Dose-Response: Prepares IC
l
Handler to perform direct dilution. The intuitive graphical user interface allows the sample distribution, back-filling and
control transfer required for each curve to be incorporated into a single protocol.
Echo Cherry Pick: Guides file-driven transfers of samples from any source well to any destination well. Echo Cherry Pick
l
software supports pick lists and produces output files in nearly any CSV file format-typically required by LIMS or other
workflow management software.
Echo Plate Reformat: Enables a broad range of plate transfer functions from plate replication to library
l
compression/reformatting and custom mapping. A drag-and-drop interface, combined with color-coded plate previews,
simplifies setting up even the most complex cross-pooling protocols.
Echo Plate Audit: Analyzes and compares sample composition and volume. Echo Plate Audit utilizes the ability of the Echo
l
Liquid Handler to acoustically analyze sample properties for pre-run validation and tracking.
Echo Combination Screen: Provides a variety of plate transfer functions to the Echo Liquid Handler and works with all Echo
l
Liquid Handlers. When creating a new transfer protocol in Echo Combination Screen application, you will create the dilution
curves and destination plate layout first. You must also define the source wells in a user-generated pick list based on a
template that matches the protocol you are creating.
EchoArray Maker: Provides a variety of plate transfer functions using an interactive graphical editor that allows researchers
l
to design custom spotting patterns to build custom arrays. Researchers can create and edit protocols that map the transfer
of fluids from microplates to the custom arrays using the Echo Liquid Handler. A variety of spotting patterns can be created
for microarrays, MALDI-chips, and more.
For customers requiring additional customization, Labcyte also provides Echo application programming interfaces and code
examples via the Echo SDK (software development kit) to integrate the Echo system into their own laboratory automation system.
The Echo Application Integration Manual describes the Echo programming interfaces that are designed to be used by
administrators, software programmers, system integrators, or any person who will be involved in custom programming for Echo
applications.
Contact your Labcyte representative for information on the Echo applications listed above or on the Echo SDK.
