Finishing the Traction Drive

Remove the jack stands and lower the machine
to the ground.

Install the seat and seat plate; refer to
the Seat and Seat Plate (page

Test drive the machine to ensure that it does not
move when the traction pedal is in neutral.
Adjusting the Steering
Stops
4-Wheel Drive Machines Only
The rear-axle-steering stops help prevent over-travel
of the steering cylinder in case of impact on the rear
wheels. Adjust the stops so that there is 0.23 cm
(0.090 inch) clearance between the bolt head and the
knuckle on the axle when you turn the steering wheel
completely to the left or to the right.

Thread the bolts in or out until you attain a
clearance of 0.23 cm (0.090 inch); refer to
Figure
67.

Loosen the screw on the tie-rod clamp.
3.
Rotate the ball joint in or out to adjust the length
of the tie rod.
4.
Install the ball joint to the mounting bracket and
check the wheel toe-in.
5.
After attaining the desired adjustment, tighten
the screw on the tie-rod clamp and secure the
ball joint to the mounting bracket.
