IMPORTANT! Before cleaning the lens, make sure it is free of any abrasive contaminants
as this will help prevent the formation of scratches during cleaning.

8. Repeat step 7. When the camera has been wiped two times,
continue with the following steps.
9. Remove potential chemical build-up from the camera by
wiping it with a sterile lap sponge saturated with de-ionized
water.
10. Use a sterile dry lap sponge to dry the camera or cable, as
needed.
11. Place the camera in a clean environment, ready for next use.
12. Reconnect the camera.
13. Remove and discard gloves.
The following surface disinfectant has been found to be effective in
achieving a desired level of disinfection and is available from
Patterson Dental and other suppliers.
• Cavi-Wipes (Metrex Research, Kerr) or equivalent
To clean the lens surface, moisten a soft cotton swab dipped in
rubbing (isopropyl) alcohol. Gently wipe the lens surface end-to-end
in straight lines without applying pressure; do not scrub. Allow the
alcohol to evaporate from the lens surface. Repeat these steps, as
needed, until the lens surface is clean.
To avoid cross contamination, follow the cleaning instructions
provided by your computer manufacturer and implement them as
part of your normal routine for ensuring proper sterilization and
disinfectant of tools in your dental practice.
