Preconditions
☑ Engine is stopped and starting disabled.

Designation / Use
Measuring jig 1
Depth gage, 200 mm
Measuring jig 2, optional
Preparatory steps
1.
Remove cylinder head covers (→ Page 240).
2.
Install barring tool (→ Page 218).
3.
Turn crankshaft in direction of rotation using
barring tool until TDC mark (1) and pointer (2)
are aligned.
Calibrating measuring jigs 1 and
2
1.
Place measuring unit (2) on calibration
plate (3).
