8 Repeat the previous steps for the remaining rail
sections and posts going up the stairs. Remember to
check the length of each post with the plan drawings.
Securely clamp each post to its corresponding rail
bracket.
9 When all posts are in place and clamped to the rail
brackets, double-check all measurements per the plan
drawings and verify that all posts are plumb. Use shims
and spacers as required.
10 Ensure that all splices are clean and tight.
11 Check that the clearance dimensions between the rail
and the stairway are according to the plan drawings.
Note that vertical clearances are measured from the
bottom of the lower tube to the stair nose or floor.
The clearance dimension at the bottom landing is often
42 mm (1.65") from the bottom of the lower tube to the
landing. You can therefore use a shim to support
the tube at the bottom landing to achieve this clearance.

12 Make your way along the rail from top to bottom and
use a pencil to mark the two rail bracket holes on all
posts.
13 Drill and tap the rail bracket post holes (M10 x 1.5 tap).
You can either drill the rail bracket post holes with the
post in place or remove the post for drilling. If you
remove the posts for drilling, be sure to unclamp and
remove each post ONE AT A TIME and then reinstall
each post one at a time.
14 Repeat Step 13 until all posts are drilled and tapped,
and fastened to their corresponding rail brackets.
15 You can now anchor the posts through the three pre-
drilled holes in the base plate of each post.
16 Drill and anchor each post in turn to ensure the railway
does not shift. Use the appropriate anchoring hardware
(not provided) for your installation.

Final check of rail assembly
1 With the rail assembly in place, check that all rail
brackets and posts are plumb.
2 Check that all measurements and clearances are per the
plan drawings.
3 Check all joints for a tight fit and alignment. Proper fit of
the splices is critical to ensure smooth operation of the
lift along the rails.
4 Ensure all bolts are tightened.
5 Clean away any debris around the rail and wipe any dust
off the rail before installing the carriage.
