Sliding contact assembly into upper tube
g. Insert the support rope (2) into the upper tube. The
sliding contact (3) will then be positioned between
the rope levers as shown below.

h. Verify that the distance between the rope levers (6)
and (11) centre to centre is 90 mm (3.5") as shown
above. The rope levers must be brought to within
90 mm (3.5") of each other to be connected to
the carriage.
i. Note that the rope may be too long. In this case, pull
the support rope (2) out of the upper tube,
dismantle the end of the rope, and remove one or
more plastic support pieces as required. Then,
reassemble and reinstall the support rope.
